For almost 20 years, we at Rising Star Outreach have regularly witnessed the power of human fortitude in the face of unimaginable circumstances. We have seen what can only be described as “miracles” built out of nothing other than the sheer will and faith of people banning together for a common cause. Have you ever tried combining wash tape and painting? This project is so easy that even your kid could do it! All you do is “draw” with washi tape by taping off whatever geometric design your heart desires, keeping in mind that anything taped off will stay white. (It’s kind of like tie dye!) Choose a favorite color or three or ten and start painting. You can get really creative here doing whatever you like. Once your paper is dry carefully peel off the masking tape and reveal a super cool geometric watercolor design that you made! I love this project so much because you don’t need to have any experience painting with watercolors to make something truly amazing and it’s perfect for all ages!

Keep your body happy and nourished with this delicious comfort food. Serve it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Share it with your family or keep the leftovers in the fridge to snack on later.
- 2 Sweet Potatos
- 1 TBSP Olive Oil
- Salt & Pepper
- 1/2 Onion
- 1TBSP Olive Oil
- 2 C. Spinach
- 5 Eggs
- 1 lb Turkey Meatballs
- 1/4 C. Pesto
- 1/4 C. Cheese
- 2 Tbsp Cilantro
- Greek Yogurt (optional)
Cut the sweet potato into small chunks. Toss with olive oil, salt & pepper. Bake at 425 f. for 20 minutes or until soft.
Cut the onion into small pieces. Heat up olive oil in large fryin pan and add onion. Cook until translucent. When the onion is almost done add the spinach and cook until it is cooked through. Add the cooked sweet potatoes and turkey meatballs to the pan.
Whisk 5 eggs in a bowl. Add eggs to the pan with the onion, spinach and sweet potatoes. When eggs are almost done cooking add pesto and cheese and stir until combined.
Optional: Once eggs are cooked through top everything with cheese and put in the oven for 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
Top with cilantro and serve with greek yogurt.

Homemade Bread Recipe
EASY FLUFFY HOMEMADE BREAD – Makes 4 Loaves
- 5 cups of very warm water (too hot will kill the yeast, the water should feel as if you are giving a baby a bath)
- 2 tablespoons of yeast
- 2/3 cups vegetable oil
- 3 teaspoons of salt
- 2 cup of sugar or 1 1/2 cups honey
- 12 cups all purpose flour, or wheat flour
Add the warm water, then add the yeast in a Bosch or mixer. Let the yeast sit in the water for 1-2 minutes to make sure that the yeast is rising/expanding.
Then add the oil, sugar or honey, salt, and mix.
Now time for the 12 cups of flour. Add 3 cups at a time mixing after every 3 cups. When you get to 11 cups, add the last cup SLOWLY watching it carefully. It is done when it is slightly sticky, soft, and when it is starting to pull away from the sides of the Bosch. Sometimes it takes more or less than 12 cups total. After the dough looks good, turn on low and knead for 8 minutes.
Take the dough hook out, cover, and let the dough rise in the Bosch for 50 minutes – 1 hour.
This recipe makes 4 loaves. When the dough is done rising in the pan, shape the 4 loaves and set in greased bread pans.
Let the loaves rise on the counter covered with a kitchen towel for one hour or almost doubled in size.
Bake 2 at a time in the oven at 325° for 42-45 min. You know they are done baking when the bottom of the loaf is golden!
