RISING STAR OUTREACH GALA

HONORING

Diane & King Husein

Rising Star Outreach’s gala will be held in honor of Diane and King Husein, an inspiring couple passionate about education and philanthropy, at the Marriott Hotel at City Creek in Salt Lake City on February 3, 2024. The highly anticipated event will give guests the opportunity to bring hope to families affected by leprosy during an evening they’re sure to remember for years to come. The gala will include a delicious dinner, spectacular musical performance, and exciting silent and live auctions.

Honoring a legacy of giving.

We are grateful for the opportunity to honor the legacy of Diane and King Husein. King is the Founder and CEO of SPAN Construction & Engineering. The company has been ranked #1 in the steel building industry for over 30 years. It is well known as the exclusive builder of Costco Wholesale stores worldwide, which accounts for approximately 50% of SPAN’s business. King is an influential supporter of global religious freedom initiatives. In 2021, he was awarded the Global Business & Interfaith Peace Gold Medal.

Diane and King are passionate about the power of education. They are unified in their efforts to mentor students, serve on BYU’s President Leadership Council, and donate to education programs.

King earned his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from India’s University of Bombay. He traveled across the world to Brigham Young University for his Master’s in Structural Engineering in 1971, and it was during that time he met Diane. Diane is originally from Star Valley, Wyoming, and the Vice President of Legacy Freedom Management, LLC. They are the parents of four children.
