We will accept online applications beginning September 2009.  Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis, usually a week after the application has been received.  Applications are accepted until the sessions are full, so apply early.

The Summer 2010 Session dates are: Session 1: May 24-June 11 - Regular session Session 2: June 14-June 19 - Short Session Session 3: June 21-July 5 - Regular Session Session 4: July 12-July 30 - Regular Session (FULL) Session 5: August 2-August 9 - Short Session Session 6: August 11-August 27 - Regular Session

Cost:

The cost of a three week summer session is $2000, plus airfare.  For our special family sessions, the cost is $1500 per person, or $5000 for a family of four, plus airfare.
As a Rising Star Volunteer, your fee covers both your own costs and much of the cost of our programs in India.  Because of this, when you volunteer you are not just contributing your time.  You are an active stakeholder in the programs and activities we run.  You can be proud that you are helping the leprosy patients through both your time and your means.
For this reason, we require all our volunteers to participate in a fundraising project prior to their arrival in India.  Regardless of whether you are financially able to cover the cost of the program yourself, you send a letter to 25-50 of your friends inviting them to be involved in what you are doing.   We have provided a template of this letter for your convenience, but we invite you to tweak it and make it your own.  As you go through your experience, you will write emails home and allow all the people who have donated to participate in what you are doing.  It then becomes a life changing experience for all of you.
